The previously mentioned Run for the Cure was this past weekend. I might have been slow but I did manage to run the entire 5 km. That is a huge accomplishment for me. If you have never participated in Run for the Cure, you should. A great cause and a great family event with running or walking that supports the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – ladies (and men), we need to take care of our boobs! I was so inspired when I got home, I thought I should keep the momentum going so registered for another 5 km at the end of November. Vancouver Historic Race which runs through Stanley Park. This one is an actual race with a timer and events include a 5 km, 10 km or half. Would love you to join our team “Bob’s your husband” – https://www.registrationlogic.com/secure/Register.aspx?E=1908 (well, he’s MY husband, but for this, I’ll share him – he might even wear a tutu!).
The cleanse my son had the entire family on is done – FINALLY. It did only last five days (felt like forever) and I might have had the odd sip of coffee (ahem) but other than that did not cheat. Coffee was back on the menu as soon as we finished but I have kept it to one cup a day vs. my usual more than one HA! The cleanse was actually really good. Lots of food on it so you weren’t starving, primarily eating non-processed stuff, dairy, alcohol. It did help me make some tweaks to my diet which I will continue with (have actually started to enjoy Starbucks Green Tea Soy Latte).
Our work health challenge came to a close last week as well. Sam was back with the scale and calipers to measure our fat. A lot of improvements all around but I won both the most pounds lost and body fat loss – legitimately too! Nothing to do with nepotism. Because I lost the most weight by quite a bit (down 14 lbs now) my team also won (you’re welcome team LOL). Still need to stay on top of it as I am still participating in the Pharmaceutical Science program and the next weigh in there is next week.
This write up seems to be completing a lot of things that were ongoing. Next write up will have to be about new challenges because, with me, it is accountability. If I write it down, I will do it, so stay tuned for more!
